Do you offer an opportunity to meet a teacher or teachers to make sure I like them?

BML wants to make sure that you feel great about the teacher we match you with. We offer a 30-minute Meet & Greet to first-time students. This provides students with the opportunity to meet a contracted teacher in their studio to get a feel for their vibe before committing to a full lesson.

We also offer a discount Introductory Lesson to first-time students wishing to meet their teacher for a 60, 45 (or 30 minute kids) appointment at their own home or their teacher's studio. This provides the student a more in-depth opportunity learn more about the strengths and teaching style of their chosen teacher at our lowest lesson rate.

What if the first teacher isn't a good match? Can I have another introductory lesson with a different teacher?

We have a very high success rate of matching students with teachers. However, should you not be satisfied with your Trial or introductory lesson you may try a different teacher in order to find a better match.

About our Teachers

Are your teachers independent contractors or employees?

All teachers working for BML are independent contractors, which allows them the freedom to make custom lesson plans tailored to their students' individual needs.

What are the teachers' backgrounds?

Nearly all of our contracted teachers have Bachelor's degrees in Music from top conservatories and music programs, some have Masters and PhD's. Find out more about each of our teachers here.

Do any teachers provide instruments?

Unfortunately at the moment, BML does not rent or sell musical instruments. However we would be happy to recommend a store where you can rent or purchase a musical instrument. Our teachers can often provide an instrument for you to use during your lesson time, just ask.

Do any of your teachers teach more than one instrument or subject?

Many of our teachers actively play more than one instrument and teach a variety of subjects. Take a look at our Teachers page for more info.

What styles of music do your teachers teach?

Most of our teachers have experience playing and teaching a wide variety of styles. You’ll find a list of each teacher’s major influences at the bottom of their personal bio, accessible from the Teachers page.
